Our Mission |
The Kingsley community is dedicated to providing a safe and caring educational environment that fosters total-child development. We believe each person who comes in contact with a Kingsley student becomes part of the Kingsley Community; and as a member of that community is responsible for the well-being of our students.
Welcome to the home of the Kingsley Comets; welcome to our family! |
Our School |
Kingsley Elementary School is part of the Haven Middle School feeder system. Students residing in the Kingsley attendance-area will go to Haven Middle School for 6th through 8th grade.
At Kingsley School, we welcome our students with warmth and commitment.
Kingsley is a vital and exciting school with a diverse family of students, a creative and dedicated staff, an experienced and devoted administration, and an active, supporting adult community. |
Kingsley Wins Snow Plow Award! |
Every Fall for the past three years, the City of Evanston invites schools to paint the city’s snowplow blades through the P.E.P. (Painting Evanston’s Plows) program. Eight schools entered the contest this year, and Kingsley won two out of the three prizes awarded! Ours was the city’s most popular plow, earning the most votes from Evanston citizens when
the plows were displayed in front of the Civic Center in October. We also won best theme award from the Streets and Sanitation workers!
We are very proud of the Kingsley 4th and 5th grade students who worked with parent volunteers to design and paint our snowplow. This year’s theme was Tap Water: Good for You, Good for the Environment, and our design features a giant wave, inspired by a famous 19th century Japanese print by the artist Hokusai. In our version, the wave turns into a faucet, which fills up cups floating in the water. Instead of Tokyo’s Mt. Fuji in the background, we painted Mt. Trashmore! Our plow’s slogan is: “Wave Goodbye to
Bottles: Turn On To Tap Water!” Keep an eye out for our awesome plow —it will be working hard all winter long to keep Evanston’s streets snow-free and beautiful! |
